Barzan Palace, now mostly in ruins, was once a grand residence for the rulers of Hail. Built in the 19th century, the palace served as the center of government and a residence for the ruling Al Rashid family. Though only the foundation and some walls remain, the site provides a fascinating glimpse into the history and architecture of the region’s past. The palace grounds are an excellent place to reflect on Hail’s role in Saudi Arabia’s history and to imagine the splendor of the city’s former royal residence. Barzan Palace remains a symbol of Hail’s cultural heritage and historical significance.
